Note: This is a repost. The other was all wonky. Couldn't fix it, so I'm deleting it and trying again. Sorry for the hassle...
Props to Dani Cutler for capturing the audio of my talk, 5 Reasons Your Podcast TECHNICALLY Sucks, last weekend at PodCamp AZ 2009.
It's long, I warn you. And the quality is much what you'd expect from a stationary mic sitting on a table in the front row while I paced side to side.
On my agenda for the weekend is to format and record a SlideCast version and make it available with the rest of my talks. But for now, for those that can't wait, here it is. Unedited and without the benefit of the slides. Enjoy.
Old and moderately interesting posts from Evo Terra. Beer Diet, shows, random musings, my cult... it's probably all here. Yay.

PodCampAZ The Third - The End.
It's over. Months of planning and countless hours of work by loads of volunteers all led up to two fantastic days enjoyed by hundreds. That's how I'll remember PodCamp AZ 2009.
Thanks to those of you who came. You're the reason we do this.
Thanks to those who volunteered. Without you, this simply would not and could not have happened.
Thanks to those who presented. You provide the content for which everyone will talk about for weeks and hopefully use in their own lives.
Thanks to those who sponsored. It's not cheap to put on free conference of this scale. Your support was crucial to the success of the event. Well done.
Thanks to those who talked about it. Spreading the word of fun stuff like this is a Good Thing.
Thanks to UAT for giving us -- for free -- a fantastic venue that truly makes the experience better.
Thanks to everyone in the Phoenix community who helped spread the word about this. I had numerous out-of-towners comment on what a fantastic community we have, and how their town simply wouldn't be able to pull this together. While that last part is probably bullshit, you should know that others are envious of what we have done and continue to do. I take it as my personal mission to remind you of that as necessary.
Enjoy the afterglow. You've all earned it.

PodCamp AZ in November. You should come.
On November 14th and 15th, we'll once again be putting on PodCamp AZ. I'm really looking forward to the event. It's our third year and the folks helping plan the event are fantastic -- even more fantastic than the prior years. I think we're getting good at this stuff.
PodCamp AZ is free to attend. If you live further north than say, Phoenix, your weather sucks in November. You'll want to come here. It's usually still in the 80s, with no fear of that frozen water falling as if by magic from the sky.
PodCamp AZ is also a blast. I've heard many folks call it the new and social media event of the southwest. We drew over 700 people last year. If you were one, great. If not, come out this year and help us break 1000.
PodCamp AZ is a free unconference, but with a twist. Most notable: we actually schedule tracks, speakers and presentations. Anyone can present on any topic, but we encourage speakers to get us their info quickly so we can get them on the schedule. That helps those who want to attend but aren't sure of the value. But let me assure you -- we provide value to spare.
And yes boys, I'm sure iJustine will be back this year. We're getting commitments from other web-celebs from all over the country. It is the place to both see and be seen. Oh, and you can learn some stuff about new and social media, too.
If you're interested, register now. It's free. In the coming weeks we'll be putting up special rates for lodging at local hotels. Or find a buddy to crash with. Couch surfing is the hot new trend.
And if you want to help spread the word on this, today is the day. We're doing a big blog blast. Find the details here. See you in November!

5 Reasons Why Your Podcast SUCKS on iTunes preso
More from my talks at Podcamp AZ last weekend!
No, this isn't the same as the previously posted slidshow. Pay close attention to the title. This one is all about things you are (probably) doing wrong on iTunes.
I make plenty of examples out of plenty of my friends here. I hope none of them take it personally. Just pointing out errors. Might as well use friends, right?
There's also some video that Queen Geek captured. If you can find a way to sync them together, have at it!

5 Reasons Why Your Podcast SUCKS preso
I know not everyone could watch me present this topic in person at Podcamp AZ over the weekend. So I'm posting it here.
UPDATE: Dani recorded the session and has made it available, so now you can listen while you watch!
Note The Law of Two Feet applies to viewing this presentation. If it's not for you -- as in you aren't looking to increase your audience size or to improve it's attractiveness to sponsors, advertisers, critics or whoever -- then don't watch. I'm happy to have you tell me why I'm incorrect on some assumptions, but also remember that you're only watching. You don't have my words to back up these slides.
With that, enjoy!

PODCAMP AZ IS COMING!
I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but... uh...
PODCAMP AZ 2.0 IS COMING!
Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about this. I'm a lot more involved in the planning than I was last year. Heck, we all are a lot more involved. Last year's event was a huge success that just sort of fell together, likely at the energy and expense of Brent & Michelle. This time there are more of us putting in serious sweat equity. And we very much know what we want -- and how to get there. In short: it's going to be hella cool.
If you are within reasonable driving distance (I'm looking at you, southern California & Albuquerque) you really need to make the drive. Or if you are a bit further, see what sort of specials Soutwest has on airfare. I'm serious. This is going to be a very special event and you'll kick yourself for not being here.
Oh, and it's not all about podcasting. Yeah, I know the name is Podcamp AZ and we'll talk plenty about podcasting, but it's much larger. We're billing this as the Relevant Media Unconference and are planning on covering a lot of ground over two days.
Great hotels have been picked out within walking distance to the venue and fantastic rates secured for our attendees. For those unfamiliar, Phoenix is a (pun not intended) hot-spot destination in Novemeber. Why? It'll be in the 80s. How's THAT for incentive, Michiganders? Heck, most of your parents will already be here. Ah, snowbirds.
So... you coming? Register now. It's worth it. And if nothing else, you get to see ME!

PodCamp AZ is November 3, 2007
I have to go speak at CopperCon tonight, so I doubt I'll make a 5OS tonight. Busy weekend (assuming I'm feeling better), so I leave you with the above graphic and hope that you'll make plans to attend PodCamp AZ on November 3rd. Gonna be fun!

Thoughts on PodCampAZ
Jeremy and others are doing a fine job getting things together for the upcoming PodCampAZ coming up in November. I'm going to go and hope to present, but I can't spare much time to help in the way of planning.
He posted a brain dump today about his recent trip to a potential venue, and I thought I'd use my own blog here to respond and give feedback to some of that. Anything to spread the word, right?
In fairness to those of you not in AZ who don't give a frog's fat one, it's behind the MORE link. Final caveat: I've never done a PodCamp, so I'm talking strictly from my butt. Enjoy.

Podcamp AZ
I'm involved with so many podcasts that come out of FarPoint Media that I honestly forget that the Phoenix podcasting scened doesn't start and end with us. This should help broaden my horizons and sounds like a hella good time. Holy crap, I just said "hella".
